Ed Welch, one of the "summer visitors," shied a stone thru one of the plate glass windows in the front of the Family Liquor store yesterday afternoon. The bartender had refused to donate a drink, and Welch was in a revengeful frame of mind. He walked out the front door and off the sidewalk into the street, saying as he did so that he wouldn't mind putting in ninety days any way. Picking up a good-sized missile he threw it with all his strength against the window, knocking out a portion large enough to admit a wagon load of furniture. He then went on the Inside to inspect what he had done, seeming to derive considerable satisfaction from it' He was arrested on being taken before Justice Early was held to appear before the next grand Memorial Service.

I DENVER, COLORADO. cities having less than a specified number of Inhabitants. The recommendations of Rev. Bask- erville and the protests of the Congre- gationalists resulted in an Inveatiga- tidn by a committee appointed for that purpose by the Black Hills Presbytery. This committee visited Spearflsh' October 14, and made the following report on the facts and conditions as they were found: 1.

Population, census of 1900, gave the incorporated town 1166. Possibly 300 might be added for population outside the corporate limits within a radius of two miles, making a total estimated population of atxut 1500. 2. Public school enrollment about 250, with five teachers. 3.

State normal enrollment, students 170. model school 135. total for normal school, 305. 4. Church accommodations: Congregational, seating capacity 300, members 72; Episcopal, present seating capacity 150, possible capacity 250, members 65; Methodist Episcopal, seating capacity oOO, members 165; Roman Catholic, strength- unknown, uo church, self-supporting.

5. Rev. Becker of the Congregational church repotted his church receiving aid from the Congregational board of home missions this year jt $240. and a debt or $5u0. He emphasized the comity agreement and reaffirmed the protest of the Black Hills association.

6. Rev. H. C. Baskerville presented a subscription list uor a Presbyterian church building, amounting to $533 7.

Rev. Baskerville presented a list of eighteen names of persons whom he said would unite with a Presbyterian church. A partial canvass of these names by the committee reduced the number to fourteen. 8. No pledge of money for the support of a pastor was made.

After a careful review of the above findings the committee unanimously decided that the showing made by Rev. Baskerville in behalf of a church organization at Spearflsh was not sufficient to justify beginning work here. It was further resolved that a copy of these findings and the action of the committee be sent to the board of borne missions and to Rev. Baskerville, with the understanding that the latter is at liberty to appeal to the board of home missions if not satisfied with the action of the committee. Rev.

Baskerville announces that be proposes to appeal the case to the board of home missions, where he hopes for a reversal of the decision of the local committee. DRS. COLLIER 4 COLLI tR. DEADWOOD AND LEAD, the Only Osteopaths i the Northern MilH. Deadwood office at.Oillmor House Mondays.
