Miss Pierce was the winner of the Beef Cook -Off Contest held at Lead recently Mrs.

Sleep. Mrs Dons Rantapaa and Mrs. Eva Kunes reported on the Lead Cook-Off Contest and Mrs. Cundy reported on the cook-off in Spearfish. The members decided to serve a menu advocating beef at their meetings from now on.

Mrs. Albert Anderson, president, conducted the meeting. Agnes Panek presented the past President Mrs. Roland Bryan with the pin. Mrs.

Buzz Schenk, chairman of the Miss Lawrence County Cow Belle Contest, reported there is a possibility of three girls entering. Janet Junek of Redig. Betty Peterson and Laura Crago of Spearfish. The winner will compete in the Miss Stockgrower Contest. Mrs.

Vincent Crago reported that the, Cow Belles would be serving tidbits of beef at the Student Union at BHSC from 2 to 5 p.m. for the Americana, other members of the committee were Ms. Bryan, Mrs. Gerrold Hanson, Mrs. Myron Moore and Agnes Panek.

Anyone wishing to buy beef certificates contact Mrs. George Holben, Spearfish, to obtain them. The state project assigned to the Lawrence County Cow Belles in June of 1973 was advertising via radio. Mrs. Pat Ridley, a member of the committee, reported that she, Mrs.

Bryan, Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Viola Blair, state president of the Cow Belles, met with Marguerite Kleven at her home in March and as a result of this meeting the South Dakota Cow Belles will sponsor the first half of Marguerite's program, "Something for the Girls" over KBHB Radio, Sturgis, each Thursday and at the conclusion of the program Marguerite will give a beef recipe. Another member, Mrs. Charlie Dwight, was unable to attend this meeting.

There were 22 members present at (his first meeting of the seventh year of the organization. On April 16, Mrs. Holben, Mrs. Boyd Larson and Mrs. Dwight will hostess the Cow Bellesat the Holben home.

Twenty-one attended the Bud and Blossom Garden Club, 7o'clock dinner held at the St. Onge schoolhouse recently. Following the dinner the members and their husbands who were their guests for the evening, enjoyed a film on Appalachian People and their Wood Carvings. Mrs. Milton Mitchell will be hostess for the April meeting.

Services at the United Church of Christ in St. Onge will be held Friday evening, Apr. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Easter Sunday services will be held at 8 i Word was received that Jack Mason, Philip was killed in an auto accident on Friday. The Masons were former St.

Onge residents.
