THE Lawrence County States Attorney's office has announced the arrest of Jeff Sheer in connection with a drug party in Spear fish on March 4, 1978 Sheer is tentatively charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and is currently out on bond. Investigation into this matter is continuing and more arrests are possible in the near future. Homer Edwards dies Homer E. Edwards, 86, a Homestake employee for 20 years, died Tuesday, March 11, at Brighton, Colo. Masonic graveside services will be held at 10 a.m.

Thursday at the West Le ad Cemetery under the direction of Golden Star Lodge No. 9, AF AM of Lead. Edwards was born June 8, 1891 near Parkersburg, W. Va. He served in the U.S.

Navy and with the United States Secret Service in Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution. He worked for Homestake for 20 years until his retirement in 1955. He moved to Hampton, Va. and lived there until 1971 when he went to Colorado. Edwards was married on June 7, 1928 in Lead to Margaret Searle who preceded him in death in February, 1953.

He was a 50 year member of Golden Star Lodge No. 9, AF AM, of Black Hills Consistory, and of Naja Temple Shrine. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Johnson of Brighton, Colo; two half sisters, Reta Sarver, Ripley, W. Va.

AF AM Treber was born in Deadwood Feb. 15, 1882 to John and Hermina Treber. Deadwood pioneers. He attended Deadwood schools until 1897 when he went to Michigan Military School near Pontiac. He graduated from this school in 1899 and then entered the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 1904 with a degree in electrical and civil engineering.

Treber worked for LaClede Gas Company in 1904-05 before returning to Deadwood in 1905 Death Notices Notice of the death of Mrs. Louise Curran, age 93, has been received She died at St. Joseph's hospital in Deadwood early Tuesday evening She was preceded in death by her husband Clay C. Curran, former long-time principal of Lead High School who died on Nov. 29.

1977. Services are pending at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Lead. Word has been received of the death of Daisy Rochester, who died March 1. at the age of 76, after an illness of several months. She had been in and out of the hospital in Long Beach.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin E. Rochester; two grandsons all of Sutherlin Ore.

Also two sisters. Veta Rochester and Bertie Mac Dougall, both of Long Beach, Calif and many other relatives. Daisy's husband Arthur preceded her in death in January 1965. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and lived a life of service to others. She was a Deadwood resident for about 28 vears.

He worked for Consolidated Power and Light Company and General Public Utilities in Dead wood and Lead until 1942. He was manager of the Deadwood and Lead offices from 1908 to 1929. He retired from Black Hills Power and Light Company in 1951 He was Deadwood city treasurer from 1955 to 1960. He was active in community and fraternal affairs, being a life member of Deadwood Elks Lodge 508, a 50-year member of De ad wood Lodge No. 7, a 50 year member of Black Hills Consistory, and a life member of the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce and Deadwood Fire Department.

He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Black Hills Society of Pioneers. He was married Oct. 6: 1909 to Edith Bartleson in Deadwood. and she passed away in November, 1971.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Melt Dorothy Jane) Hoherz of Deadwood; three grandchildren. and three great granddaughters. Treber was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, William. and two brothers.

In the In School program, the school system works with the local Job Service to assist low income students in placing them in part time jobs. The low income students are identified by school counselors and various teachers. They are then given an application to verify the income status. Jobs are obtained in the private sector as well as non profit organizations.

In the case of non profit jobs, the cost of the program is reimbursed up to 100 per cent by the state. The Out School program works essentially the same way, however part time jobs are obtained for students who have dropped out of school and have been out from one to six months. Brady today announced his candidacy for nomination for state representative from the 26th Legislative District, which comprises Lawrence County and western Pennington County. The Spearfish Republican, who is seeking one of the two House seats in District 26, said that a lifetime in South Dakota in engineering, farming and ranching, and real estate along is that the student has to finish school or go through the GED program.
